Rae Sremmurd, Pia Mia Perform at Amex AIR Concert

Rae Sremmurd and Pia Mia took over El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles last week as part of American Express’ Unstaged: Artists in Residence program. As some of the year’s most buzzed-about acts, each performed a 30-minute set (the bill also included BØRNS and Gavin James) for the sold-out crowd of Amex card holders.

The Guam-bred Pia Mia served up stripped-down covers of Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen,” and showed off her dance moves while performing her latest, “Dum Dada.” She capped it off with her Chris Brown and Tyga-assisted banger “Do It Again.”

Fresh off Nicki Minaj’s “Pinkprint Tour,” Rae Sremmurd capped off the night with an electrifying set. Brothers Slim Jimmy and Swae Lee lit up the stage with their SremmLife hits, opening with “No Flex Zone” before delivering turn-up anthems including “This Could Be Us” and “My X.” The duo is already back in the studio finishing up their next album, SremmLife 2.
